DCI Motorsports is proud to announce its expansion into the ARCA/CRA Super Series for the upcoming 2012 season. Brett Robinson will drive the DCI General Contractors, AR Bodies, Advance Racing Suspension, Port City Racecars Chevrolet powered by a McGunegill Engine Performance sealed motor. Todd and Charlie Craig owners of DCI General Contractors say they are very excited to move Brett into the Super Series after a very successful couple of years in the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series.
“Brett has proved he can win and is a very talented,” stated Todd Craig. “He has excellent feedback and is doing a good job of paving the way for his teammate Trey Craig. We feel he has dramatically sped up the learning curve for Trey who just turned fifteen. Trey ran an abbreviated schedule last year showing big improvements and we expect him to challenge for wins this year with some setup and coaching from Brett in the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series. We feel we can do the same in the Super division and have a smooth transition when we feel the time is right.”
“Todd Craig has given me an opportunity of a lifetime to be a part of a fantastic series and to be able showcase our team in a bigger market,” stated Brett.
Brett is a third generation driver, his grandfather Jim raced ARCA in the sixties and was teammates with Darrel Waltrip on the Fall City Brewing team. He won several 500 lap races and was real well known throughout the Midwest. His father Todd raced in the CRA series in the nineties and his uncle Jim was crew chief for Todd then worked with Frank Kimmel’s ARCA Racing Series team for several years.
Brett has been at the race track since he was one month old and he started driving at 11 years old winning his first championship in 07 with the MMRA national touring series. He moved to the MMRA baby Grand series in 08 and dominated the season ending show at Riverview Speedway were he caught the eye of some owners who gave him the opportunity to move him into the late model division. He ran a couple of CRA Late Model Sportsman Series shows in 2009 and won the Anderson 75 in 2010, which was just his sixth race ever in a late model car thanks to Todd Craig and the DCI team.
Brett will turn 19 April 13th just in time for a wonderful birthday present being able to drive the DCI car in the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
“It is a dream come true,” added Robinson. “I have been waiting for this opportunity and I want to thank the whole DCI team!”
