Lucas oil Raceway

“Fatheadz 100”
July 27, 2012
The DCI race team rolled into Indianapolis early Friday morning to a full field of 40 cars trying to make the show.
We unloaded and prepared for the first practice session. After the first practice Brett said it was loose on entry and exit. Todd made a few changes and they lined up for the second practice. Just as they started out on the track the rain started washing out the rest of practice. The decision was made to qualify with the new untried changes.
Brett qualified 19th and said it was good on entry but to tight on exit and he could not get the power down early enough. Todd made an adjustment to help the exit and lined the car up for the start of the race.
The green flag waved and Brett passed three cars in the first two laps and the caution came out on lap six. Brett radioed that the DCI Chevrolet felt real good and he would take his time and go to the front. The restart was fast and furious with the lead cars getting tangled up and blocking the track. Brett was able to slow but was shoved right into the middle of it ending his day on lap 8 of 100. Brett said “what a shame we had a great car and I think we would have been a threat to win this thing”
